Wedding Dress Patterns for Sewing

A Great Alternative to an Exquisite Designer Dress

Choosing a wedding dress is a very exciting and responsible event for every bride. Which wedding dress to buy? Is a full skirt, or a dress with a luxurious train is better for me? Is it a sleek and figure-hugging gown, or not?  Alternatively, maybe, in spite of traditions, I will choose a short dress with a skirt-bell? Brides may have these and many other questions as well, and they need to find the right answer.

Wedding Dress PatternsEvery year, designers offer many choices, and some of their wedding dresses really look like true works of art. However, what should you do if you are on a budget? There is a solution – sewing a wedding dress with the help of a talented seamstress.

At first, note that ‘a perfect wedding dress’ is a rather relative concept. The
most beautiful outfit will always be the one that fits your body shape, mood and look. Moreover, to find the very best wedding dress pattern, be ready to try many different wedding dresses on. The main advice here is your good taste.

According to modern wedding fashion, you are free to choose whatever wedding gown you like. Nowadays, you do not have to give preference to a specific style. You can find timeless classic, retro style, as well as avant-garde wedding dress patterns in the collections of leading designers. That is not surprising, given the latest fashion for themed weddings.

Keep your body type in mind, while choosing a wedding dress pattern for you. It will save you a lot of time and nerves. Looking at photos of the most beautiful wedding dresses in the catalogue, do not rush immediately to order the same for you, without seeing it firsthand. It is never enough to imagine how it will look on you. Because wedding dresses often look much more advantageous on the pictures and photos, than in reality. So, go to a bridal shop for a fitting.

How to Choose the Right Wedding Dress Patterns

Wedding Dress PatternsOf course, the choice is not limited to the girls with model forms. So if your figure is far from perfect, choose a wedding dress patterns that will hide some figure flaws and, at the same time, emphasise the positive.
If the dress that you like does not suit you, have the honesty to admit it. Otherwise, you will be upset, looking at the wedding photos.

The White colour is pretty tricky. So if you are curvy, you need to sew a dress that will slim down your silhouette. Pay attention to the wedding dress patterns in the Greek, or Empire, styles. The classic elegance of these styles is combined with the most fashionable trends in modern collections.

If you have a romantic soul, and you like elegant dresses, then a wedding dress pattern with a long train is surely for you. Besides, it is very relevant in the current year.

Most often, designers decorate top rather generously, using fabrics, embroidery, rhinestones and other elements. You can use this idea for the dress of your dream. Wedding dress patterns with an open back also look very elegant.

Wedding Dress PatternsA wedding dress in the style of 50-60 years is a great option for petite girls. Retro style is now the height of fashion. Besides, this gown gives a great opportunity to make a themed wedding with unique photos.

There are also patterns for the ‘new look’ wedding dresses that are graceful and delicate, emphasising the fragility and delicacy. They will accentuate the most attractive parts of your figure – a thin waist, elegant shoulders, slender legs. Use light, airy fabric and exquisite cut, and this dress will look like real masterpieces.

As for the princess silhouette, new variations of this wedding dress pattern appears every season. This beautiful long dress will make your childhood dream come true, creating your own magical fairytale.

Moreover, of course, the right accessories will complement the overall image of a bride in any wedding dress.

Sizing Guide

Dresses standard length is 120 cm /48 inch/ from the waistline to the floor.

We always recommend having a professional take all of your measurements. For the most accurate measurements, don’t measure over your clothing. Your dress size measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn’t be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel to the floor.

Bust: Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor
Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.
Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

All dresses on our website can be custom made to exact measurements if you provide us with your custom sizes. If you decide to order standard size, you may use the following charts to map your measurements to the closest size to be ordered. If your measurements indicate one size for the “bust” and a different size for the “waist and/or hips”, we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. Dresses can easily be taken in by a skilled tailor or professional seamstress.
