Vintage Lace Wedding Dress: Modern View on Fashion of the Past

Vintage Wedding Dress: Embodiment of Romantic Appeal

Vintage Wedding Dress

Dress Sarah. Collection Blooming Flowers

Vintage wedding dress is a style which the years have proven. Now, we can consider any dress a vintage one if its design has originated in the 1920-1980-ies. The vintage trend in the wedding fashion is inevitably gaining its popularity. That is because the vintage style comes laden with femininity, refinement, and tenderness. Besides, it fully reveals the beauty of the fair sex. Moreover, this style is a true embodiment of romantic appeal.

Initially, a custom wedding dress in vintage style was sewn in a unique copy. Indeed, such a dress was the result of meticulous hand work. It was a combination of the exquisite style, rich fabrics, and luxurious decorations. In most cases, the mistresses of needlework sewed bespoke vintage bridal gowns, altered them to fit, and created true works of art. However, today like many years ago not each bride can afford to buy such a bridal outfit. Nowadays, the designers do not make too expensive vintage wedding gowns. However, they take into account the features and design which the dresses from the past had. Consequently, the designers preserve the key elements of style, creating more affordable bridal outfits.

So, the vintage style has strongly established itself in the wedding fashion. And in the near future, it will be gaining more and more popularity. The designers from around the world do not get tired of experimenting with the vintage style. They have many stunning wedding dress ideas and complement the vintage bridal gowns with modern accessories.

Vintage Lace Wedding Dress: Timeless Lace

Vintage Wedding DressTo make the vintage bridal attires, it is possible to use a variety of fabrics. They include both innovative and long-forgotten fabrics. Due to this, the designers can create light, airy, and very attractive dresses. However, lace and vintage style are really eminently suited. Undoubtedly, a vintage lace wedding dress is a beautiful, delicate, feminine, fantastical, and classic bridal outfit at the same time. Obviously, lace looks expensive. It adds luxury and sophistication to any vintage bridal gown. Therefore, the designers like to use lace in their vintage wedding collections.

Lace gently clings to the body and hides the figure flaws. Besides, a lace wedding dress can make the short height brides visually taller. Moreover, big pattern lace will add necessary curves and volumes to the skinny girls. So, whether you choose a 100% lace vintage wedding dress or a bridal gown with lace elements, the lace pattern will make your outfit more elegant and exquisite. The dress will look expensive even if it is not. The lace accents will give a simple vintage bridal dress zest. Indeed, lace has a beautiful texture. And any unusual pattern and decoration (seed beads, beads, pearls, etc.) will only make the vintage lace bridal gown more stunning. Without doubts, when it comes to the wedding dresses, lace is always timeless.

Vintage Lace Wedding Dress: Existing Options

Vintage Wedding DressIn fact, there are many vintage lace wedding dress options. Thus, a combination of textured ecru lace and ecru cotton fully reflects the dress vintage style. Delicate cream fabric follows the curves of the body. So this makes the bridal look luxurious. For such a vintage bridal gown, it is better to choose floriated lace. Moreover, it is necessary to decorate the bottom of the dress with fringe or pearling.

Lace and silk fabric are also a popular choice for the creation of the lace wedding dress in vintage style. Thus, fascinating lace sleeves or lace bodice perfectly suit a silk skirt. Besides, it is possible to use lace elements on the waistline, hemline of the dress or train.

If the bride aspires to combine the vintage style and fairy princess look in her bridal attire, a wedding dress with a puffy lace skirt will be a great choice. The fitted bodice emphasises the breasts. So a small bow in front or behind the belt will be an additional decoration for such a dress. This decorative element gives a romantic bridal look liveliness and fun.

There are both long and short lace vintage bridal outfits. Besides, these dresses can be high-waisted and drop-waisted. Moreover, the straight cut is also very common for the long vintage bridal gowns. This design may feature open back, open neckline or small train. However, the short lace bridal attires in vintage style are the brightest and the most amazing ones. Mostly, such a dress has a knee-length full skirt and a tight-fitting corset.

Sizing Guide

Dresses standard length is 120 cm /48 inch/ from the waistline to the floor.

We always recommend having a professional take all of your measurements. For the most accurate measurements, don’t measure over your clothing. Your dress size measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn’t be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel to the floor.

Bust: Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor
Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.
Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

All dresses on our website can be custom made to exact measurements if you provide us with your custom sizes. If you decide to order standard size, you may use the following charts to map your measurements to the closest size to be ordered. If your measurements indicate one size for the “bust” and a different size for the “waist and/or hips”, we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. Dresses can easily be taken in by a skilled tailor or professional seamstress.
