A-Line Princess Wedding Dress: Tenderness in Every Detail

Dress Like in Fairy Tale

A-Line Princess Wedding DressA-line princess wedding dress is a fairy tale inspired bridal silhouette. Obviously, for any girl, wedding is a fairy tale. And where if not in a fairy tale do the charming princesses live? Nowadays, the magnificent puffy A-line princess bridal gowns belong to the most popular bridal outfits worldwide. The young brides still keep in memory the images of children’s cartoons about princesses.

Therefore, trying on a princess wedding dress with an embroidered bodice and a puffy floor-length skirt, the bride can not part with it already. As a result, the delicate, surrounded with romantic aura brides become even more mysterious, just like fabulous fairies.

A princess bridal gown went down in the fashion history thanks to Charles Worth, the famous French fashion designer who created his dresses in the XIX century. It was he who had got tired of the pomposity and pretentiousness of aristocratic attires, replete with ruffles and frills. That is why Worth decided to make a solemn and elegant dress, in which every woman could feel like a noble person.

Consequently, he designed an impressive princess style dress. That gown has instantly gained popularity as a wedding dress. Moreover, nowadays, the A-line princess wedding gowns are in heavy demand among the brides with a fine sense of style, preferring the understated design and at the same time tenderness in every detail.

Features of A-Line Princess Wedding Dress

A-Line Princess Wedding DressA-line princess wedding dress differs from the other bridal gowns with its extraordinary versatility and ease of cut. The classic shape without unnecessary drapery and folds, as well as smooth curves from the bust to the hem beautifully, lengthens the figure and emphasises the waistline. A princess dress style has the A-line silhouette. It is characterised by a puffy skirt extending downward. To achieve this effect, it is necessary to use petticoats. However, such a wedding gown can be voluminous even without petticoats if you choose the A-line princess dress with a multi-tiered skirt. For such a dress silhouette, height and size are not important. These gowns are equally stunning regardless of design (off-the-shoulder, strapless, sleeveless, with straps, with sleeves, high-necked, etc.).

The princess A-line wedding dress neckline can have different shapes, that is, asymmetrical, sweetheart, round, square, scoop, V-neck, etc. In any case, the chest area looks seductive. Also, wide straps, spaghetti straps, long sleeves, or short sleeves also perfectly complement any of these necklines. By the way, note that in the princess a-line bridal outfit the greatest attention is focused on the neckline itself. Moreover, the naked shoulders add attractiveness to the bridal look.

As the decorative elements, the designers choose the beads, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, drapery, lace, etc. The wedding accessories which match the dress also help change the bridal look. Thus, a string of pearls or a glittering necklace allows you to emphasise your neck. Besides, a bridal belt with crystal brooch or an elegant bow will accentuate your wasp waist. The beadwork or lace-up back makes the usual A-line princess dress more spectacular. Finally, a light-coloured or even a contrast-coloured ribbon will add style and refinement to such a dress.

Whom A-Line Princess Wedding Dress Suits

A-Line Princess Wedding DressCertainly, the A-line princess wedding dress suits almost everyone. The versatility of the A-line princess bridal gowns makes them an excellent choice for hiding the faults and highlighting the advantages of any body shape. For this purpose, it is just enough to change the neckline depth, adjust the waistline or change the fabric. Due to the long lines of the skirt or slightly dropped waistline, the short height bride will look taller than she actually is in such a dress. Also, this dress silhouette can successfully hide the curvy figure problems. However, the tall skinny ladies also choose the princess A-line wedding gowns to emphasise their slenderness.

The taller a girl is, the more voluminous skirt can be in the same dress, while the corset remains unchanged. Furthermore, if the bride has an elongated body and relatively short legs, the high-waist princess A-line gown with a flared skirt will be the best option. So, the A-line princess dresses are suitable for almost any figure. The main thing is to balance the body proportions with the help of a dress.

Sizing Guide

Dresses standard length is 120 cm /48 inch/ from the waistline to the floor.

We always recommend having a professional take all of your measurements. For the most accurate measurements, don’t measure over your clothing. Your dress size measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn’t be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel to the floor.

Bust: Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor
Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.
Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

All dresses on our website can be custom made to exact measurements if you provide us with your custom sizes. If you decide to order standard size, you may use the following charts to map your measurements to the closest size to be ordered. If your measurements indicate one size for the “bust” and a different size for the “waist and/or hips”, we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. Dresses can easily be taken in by a skilled tailor or professional seamstress.
