Ball Gown and A-Line Wedding Dress: What to Choose

Most Feminine Dress Types

Ball Gown wedding dressBall gown wedding dress and A-line wedding dress belong to the most popular gowns which the feminine brides tend to choose. These dresses have millions of admirers among the ladies throughout the world. Undoubtedly, the dream of any girl is to be an amazingly beautiful bride so that no one of the guests could drag his or her gaze away from the bride. That is why when looking for a dress which is the most appropriate for you, you should know the peculiarities of both ball gown and A-line wedding dresses. So, we will further look through these two types of wedding gowns.

Ball Gown wedding dress for Princess

Indeed, the brides always adored ball gown silhouette. The matter is that it offers a great opportunity to try on a magical bridal look and not to part with it all day long. Can a princess do without a ball gown wedding dress? Of course, not! A childish desire to get into fairy-tale can become a reality in such a dress. Classical ball gown dresses usually have a fitted upper part and a puffy floor-length skirt. This helps visually reduce waist size and increase breast size.

Moreover, such a dress hides too wide hips and creates a charming hourglass silhouette. The dress is ideal for girls with pear body shape. However, it is also suitable for the brides with any type of figure. If you have a small height, you should consider the choice of a ball gown dress very carefully. That is because, in this case, such a dress can make your bridal look overloaded.

It is important to ensure that the dress is made of the high-quality fabric. Lightweight, flying fabrics add volume to the skirt of the dress. Moreover, the densely woven fabrics are perfect for a dress with petticoats. A ball gown wedding dress with sleeves and without sleeves, a diversity of neckline options, and numerous decorating techniques will not leave untouched any bride.

A-Line Dress for Elegant Lady

Ball Gown wedding dressA-line wedding dress has some very distinctive features. It gradually extends downwards to the bottom. A capital letter A is what the silhouette of this dress resembles. Besides, the continuous, clear lines from the top to the bottom characterise the dress. The A-silhouette has much fewer petticoats comparing to the ball gown dress. It is believed that such a dress fits all types of figures. Due to the fact that various fabrics are used for sewing A-line dresses, these dresses are suitable for different bridal looks. Thus, backless A-line bridal attire adds sexuality. A lace A-line wedding dress with sleeves and high neckline is irreplaceable for a church wedding. The use of translucent fabrics emphasises the shoulders, neck, and arms of the bride. In all A-line wedding gowns, the girls look feminine, tender, and sensual. Without doubts, A-line dress is a shrewd choice for any girl.

Sizing Guide

Dresses standard length is 120 cm /48 inch/ from the waistline to the floor.

We always recommend having a professional take all of your measurements. For the most accurate measurements, don’t measure over your clothing. Your dress size measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn’t be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel to the floor.

Bust: Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor
Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.
Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

All dresses on our website can be custom made to exact measurements if you provide us with your custom sizes. If you decide to order standard size, you may use the following charts to map your measurements to the closest size to be ordered. If your measurements indicate one size for the “bust” and a different size for the “waist and/or hips”, we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. Dresses can easily be taken in by a skilled tailor or professional seamstress.
